The Program
The Youth Boxing Program is a membership-based program for kids ages 6 to 18 to learn the skill and art of boxing. We do not teach kids to fight, we teach the values of hard work, being disciplined, and how to move our bodies effectively and efficiently.
-
Membership
Boxers fight alone in the ring. But it takes a coach and support team to bring that boxer there. As a Youth Boxing Club, we train kids in boxing, but teach that club members are a community, that we have more in common than we are different, and that all are welcome and appreciated.

Boxing is a multidisciplinary sport, that is by most accounts one of the most difficult to master. To be good requires discipline, it requires awareness of your body, how and why it moves the way it does, and being present in the moment.
-
Concussions are rare in Youth Boxing, less so than football, soccer, basketball, hockey, etc. because of the protections put in place; protective equipment, sparring safeguards, and safe training techniques.
-

Olympic-style boxing, because it is an amateur sport, is primarily about scoring points to win a bout rather than winning via knockdown or knock out. Since scoring points is the primary goal, Olympic-style boxing is about form and good technique, about strategy and grace versus brutality.
